Information on the Proposed Merger of Homestead Mutual Insurance Company With and Into Mutual of Wausau Insurance Corporation
On September 26, 2025, Mutual of Wausau Insurance Corporation (MWIC, the “Applicant”), submitted a Form A filing regarding the proposed acquisition of control of Homestead Mutual Insurance Company (HMIC, the “Domestic Insurer”). The Applicant intends that the merger would occur pursuant to the agreement and plan of merger dated August 18, 2025. After the merger, HMIC would cease to exist, and the surviving entity would be MWIC.
As required by Wisconsin law, a Public Hearing is required concerning this merger application.
