State Based Systems is an electronic system built by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners ​ ​​ designed and enhanced in partnership with regulators that automates state-based insurance regulation operations. Their Lookup tool allows consumers to verify licensed entities and individuals.​​

​How to Use​ the Lookup Tool


  1. Click the button below ​to visit the external Lookup portal.

  2. Lookup Tool ​​

  3. Enter the Jurisdiction (Wisconsin), the Search Type (Licensee), and Entity Type (Individual).



  4. Enter one or​ more fields asking for Last Name, First Name, or License Number.



  5. Check the "I agree to the NAIC's Terms and Conditions" box and hit the Search button.

  3. Enter the Jurisdiction (Wisconsin), the Search Type (Licensee), and Entity Type (Business Entity).



  4. Enter the agency name into the Business Name field.



  5. Check the "I agree to the NAIC's Terms and Conditions" box and hit the Search button.

  5. Select Advanced Criteria, choose License ​Type (Public Adjuster) and License Status (A​ctive).



  6. Check the "I agree to the NAIC's Terms and Conditions" box and hit the Search button.​
