Commissioner Nickel Appoints Elizabeth Hizmi as
Legislative Liaison and Public Information Officer

Madison, WI—Wisconsin Commissioner of Insurance Ted Nickel announces Elizabeth Hizmi has been appointed Legislative Liaison and Public Information Officer (PIO) at the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI).

"I am pleased to have Elizabeth Hizmi on board as the department's Legislative Liaison and PIO. Elizabeth brings a variety of experience to the position, including her knowledge and performance on policy issues as well as working with the legislature on board appointments," stated Commissioner Nickel.

Prior to her appointment as Legislative Liaison and PIO, Elizabeth served as the Division Administrator for Policy Development at the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS). The Division of Policy Development at DSPS is responsible for providing administrative support and policy guidance to professional regulatory boards and consultation about continuing education requirements and examination requirements for regulated professions.

Elizabeth also served as Governor Walker's Appointments Director. In this capacity she was responsible for facilitating gubernatorial appointments to over 200 boards, councils, commissions and task forces. Elizabeth is originally from Brookfield, Wisconsin, and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Legal Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
