OCI Provides Information on Federal Exchange Service Areas

Madison, WI—While the exchange in Wisconsin will be run by the federal government, the Wisconsin Office of Commissioner of Insurance has collected final service area information for insurers participating in the federal exchange. Prior to the finalization of the insurer contracts with the federal government, this information was not available.

"Wisconsin is not running the federal exchange," stated Insurance Commissioner Ted Nickel, "but this is information that consumers need to know in advance of the October 1 deadline. We felt it was important to provide the information to prevent consumer confusion."
