​Information on the Proposed Acquisition of Control of Wisconsin Collaborative Insurance Company (WCIC) by Advocate Aurora Health, Inc. (Applicant)

On February 2, 2018, Advocate Aurora Health, Inc. (Applicant) filed, in part, an application to acquire Wisconsin Collaborative Insurance Company (WCIC). WCIC is a Wisconsin domiciled insurance company currently owned by Aurora Health and Anthem. WCIC does not write any premium and has not written any premium in the past five years. The application indicated that the Applicant intends to acquire control of WCIC by becoming the sole member of Aurora pursuant to an Affiliation agreement by and between Advocate Health Care Network and Aurora. As a result of the affiliation, the Applicant will acquire the power to control the voting shares of WCIC owned by Aurora.

If the proposed acquisition is approved, WCIC will start writing health insurance business in Wisconsin with the support of its ultimate controlling parent, the Applicant.
