The mission of the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance is to protect and educate Wisconsin consumers by maintaining and promoting a strong insurance industry.
OCI's mission statement was updated in 2020 to reflect the modern insurance industry and the current goals of the office. The mission statement is core to OCI's operations. The executive leadership team as well as each OCI employee references this mission statement in its decision making. It provides the framework for goals, programs, and proposed legislation.
Published yearly, the Wisconsin Insurance Report outlines how each department carries out its duties in service of the mission statement.
