The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released the following information regarding the Medicare premiums and deductibles that will become effective 2008.

Part A
Hospital:Deductible$1,024.00
Coinsurance1st through 60th day: $0
61st through 90th day: $256.00/day
91st through 150th day: $512.00/day
Skilled Nursing FacilityCoinsurance1st through 20th day: $0
21st through 100th day: $128.00/day
Part A Premium (for voluntary enrollees only):
     $423.00/month (if individual has 29 or fewer quarters of Social Security coverage)      $233.00/month (if individual has 30-39 quarters of Social Security coverage)

Deductible$135/year
Premium$96.40/month

Part B Income-Related Premium

The 2008 Part B monthly premium rates to be paid by beneficiaries who file an individual tax return, including those who are single, head of household, qualifying widow(er) with dependent child, or married filing separately who lived apart from their spouse for the entire taxable year, or joint tax return are:
