Date: April 25, 2002 State's Medicare Reimbursement Summit Adds Federal VoiceMadison, WI--Governor Scott McCallum today announced that Monday's state Medicare Reimbursement Summit in Madison now also will feature former Wisconsin Assemblywoman Sue Rohan as federal agency representative. "I'm looking forward to the recommendations that come from this crucial discussion," Governor McCallum said, "and Sue Rohan's dual perspective from Washington and Madison will be important." Rohan, director of Intergovernmental and Tribal Affairs for the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services, will represent U.S. Secretary of Health & Human Services Tommy Thompson at the summit. She used to represent the Monona area in the Assembly. Rohan will join Congressman Paul Ryan, Insurance Commissioner Connie L. O'Connell and health care, insurance and business representatives for a roundtable discussion of the current Medicare funding formula used by the federal government. Participants will look at the problems the formula has caused for health care providers in Wisconsin. The conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, April 29, at Madison's Quality Inn South, 4916 Broadway, near the intersection of Broadway and Stoughton Road (Highway 51).
