State and Local Officials Discuss Spring Flood Preparations
in La Crosse and Green Bay
Madison, WIWisconsin Insurance Commissioner Sean Dilweg, Wisconsin Emergency Management Administrator Johnnie Smith and representatives from the Department of Natural Resources, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the National Weather Service and the Brown and La Crosse County Emergency Management Offices will hold press conferences on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, to discuss Flood Awareness Week which takes place the week of March 16, 2009. Participants will announce a proclamation from the Governor and discuss the importance of flood insurance and floodplain management in addition to the prospects for flooding this spring in light of the impact of flooding that has occurred in the last two years.
The La Crosse event will take place at the La Crosse County Administration Center, 400 N. 4th St., La Crosse, in Room B190 (Basement Auditorium) at approximately 12:30 p.m. For more location information please contact Jay Loeffler at (608) 785-9860.
